Every day, hundreds of medical students and medical experts worldwide compete against each other to accurately analyze medical images and videos in DiagnosUs. Competitors can learn new concepts and improve their skills by viewing thousands of real patient cases. Best of all, the top users in each contest are rewarded with cash prizes. From detecting hemorrhages in 3D brain scans, polyps in colonoscopy videos, or cancer cells in pathology slides, to memorizing a flashcard deck as quickly as possible—DiagnosUs is a place for medical experts to earn while they learn.

We're looking for an ambitious Game Designer to join our team and work alongside product and engineering to design and refine a captivating game experience that motivates and delights our unique user base.

• Design engaging game experiences that captivate users and engage them in a variety of content
• Innovate intuitive, tactile labeling features (like mobile drawing tools or new answer selection formats) that distinguish this app from a traditional app-based learning experience
• Design scoring and feedback systems that gamify learning experiences and demonstrate progress to users
• Pitch designs, communicate purpose, and iterate on concepts with feedback from the product and engineering teams
• Work with users to identify learning pain points and identify possible solutions
• Work with subject matter experts to translate their knowledge and expertise into engaging, bite-sized learning experiences
• Participate in agile product development cycle, working closely with the product and development teams

• 5 years of experience as a game designer or UX/UI designer
• Broad mobile game design experience (free-to-play serious or educational games preferred)
• Mastery of design tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD
• Understanding of educational pedagogy and learning theory
• Experience working in an agile environment
• Experience working in a small startup
• Experience in UI/UX design
• Ability to brainstorm, collaborate with a team, and generate constructive feedback
• Interest in medicine / familiarity with medical topics
